Each Tuesday and Wednesday morning, Horizons’ Meals On Wheels vans distribute frozen to pick-up sites across town.
Pick-up sites are designated locations where volunteers go to pick up frozen meals. Pick up times for each site are between 10:00am and 11:00am. After volunteers deliver their route, the empty banana boxes are dropped back off at the pick-up site.
All routes cover just a few miles and take about an hour to complete. Routes may contain an average of 8-15. stops.
Please note: The last week of the month, clients will be receiving Care Package deliveries as well as their frozen meals.
Thank you for taking the time to consider delivering to those who can no longer leave their homes and/or have a difficult time cooking. If you have any questions about driving a route or if you would like to ride along with another volunteer to experience a route, please call us at (319) 398-3943.
