Adopt-A-Route (AAR) Program
The Adopt-A-Route (AAR) program provides an excellent way for companies, civic and faith-based organizations to engage in community service. Through a partnership with Horizons’ Meals On Wheels program, groups offer their employees or member volunteers time to deliver mid-day meals.

How it Works
By sponsoring teams of employees as Adopt-A-Route volunteer drivers, you can make a huge difference in a critical area of need! Your company will become a valuable partner in addressing this large community need.
- Designate an AAR leader to coordinate scheduling. We will work with teams to choose a route, pick up site closest to their location, day (Monday -Friday) and frequency (once a week, once every other week or once a month) to deliver.
- Engage teams of two for each day your team delivers.
- Set up an orientation session. A MOW rep will provide one at your site or at our office.
- Begin to deliver!

Deliver Meals during the week as a team!
Weekday group day of service: Groups arrive at our office located at 819 5th Street SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402 at 10am on the designated day (Monday through Friday.) We quickly go through an orientation, then load up volunteers’ cars with frozen meals for delivery and off you go. Groups of two or three per vehicle are ideal. Everyone will come back to our office when they are done delivering and share stories of their experience.
